Why we made this

The short version

Sunday exists for mothers who have had a clogged duct or mastitis more than once, and who want a way to look after themselves before episodes rather than only after one starts.

The advice those mothers get is good advice. It is also advice that assumes two free hands, a warm shower, and time — three things in short supply. We built a device that does the same gentle work on its own, while you sit down.

Who we are

Sunday was started by a woman engineer in New York after watching how much of the advice given to mothers with recurring clogged ducts assumes two free hands and an empty afternoon. The technique itself was not the problem. Doing it, at the right time, while taking care of a baby, was.

Everything since has come from asking mothers what actually happened when they tried, and from working through it with lactation professionals rather than around them.

We are a small team. There is no call center, and the person who replies to hello@sundaymaternal.com is the person who designed the thing you are wearing.
